“Will” form: (will + verb)        example: I will take a vacation this year. 

“Going To” form: (am/is/are + going to + verb)   example: I am going on vacation on June 3rd.

In the Simple Future, it is not always clear which form to use. Often, there is more than one way to interpret a sentence’s meaning.
